What Does Nose Laser Hair Removal Involve?
Nose laser hair removal at Alpha is specifically for the visible external hair around the nose, meaning hair on the rim of the nostril that’s visible from the outside and hair along the bridge area, not hair growing inside the nostril itself. This is an important distinction and one we’re always clear about at consultation. Internal nasal hair serves a genuine function in filtering the air you breathe, and laser treatment is not appropriate or intended for hair inside the nose.
We use medical-grade Nd:YAG laser technology for this area, the same laser we use across our other face and upper-body treatments. It targets melanin (pigment) in the hair follicle in short pulses, and the sensation most men describe is a warm flick or a light snap, similar to other small facial areas. Nd:YAG is considered a safer wavelength across a wider range of skin tones than some older IPL and laser systems, which is why we use it as standard.
We don’t quote a fixed session length for nose treatment, since it’s a small, precise area and timing depends on the amount of visible external hair present. This will be confirmed at your consultation.

Before any treatment, our practitioner checks your skin type, hair colour and thickness, exactly which external hair you want treated, and any medical history or medication that could affect treatment. A patch test may be required before your first nose session so we can see how your skin responds and confirm the plan is right and safe for you. Who Is Nose Laser Hair Removal For (And Who Should Check First)?
Nose laser hair removal suits men who’ve noticed visible hair on the outer nostril rim or bridge area becoming more noticeable, and men who currently pluck or trim this visible hair and would rather not keep doing it. It’s often booked alongside forehead, ears or beard-line treatment as part of a general face tidy-up.
It isn’t right for everyone, and we’ll always say so plainly. Laser targets pigment in the hair, so it doesn’t respond to white, grey, red or very light blonde hair, because there’s no melanin for the laser to target, and we’ll tell you that honestly at consultation rather than start a course that won’t give a result. We also can’t treat active tans, certain skin conditions, or clients on photosensitising medication without checking first. And to repeat the point clearly, this treatment is for visible external nose hair only. It is not a treatment for hair inside the nostril, and no reputable clinic should offer that as a laser treatment.
